Wedding trip to Mn!

Well, we made it to my brother's wedding and what a blessing it was! Considering the week we had before we left, we weren't sure if we were going to make it!  I had a 5 day fever/cough, V had bronchitis, and Chad had a 4 day flu/fever bug but little H was healthy as can be- praise the Lord!!  We left on friday morning at 6 am but as of the wed. morning before we were to leave, I was taking Chad to urgent care and our trip was pretty much cancelled.
So, as you can see, it was a unbelievable blessing from the Lord that we were all healthy on friday morning to go!  And it was such a wonderful time with family and to be able to watch my "little" brother get married- oh my, the tears were flowing.  :)

Friday-

Here is a bright and smiley V on our 6 am flight.

Suckers work wonders for keeping H quiet
and happy as the plane took off.

Being a happy girl, despite leaving so early!

She insisted (with tears) that she pull
this backpack everywhere we went-
in all 3 airports!  Silly but determined girl!

This is how she kept quiet at times-
watching her favorite movie- Chuggington!

Finally made it to grandpa and grandma's and she
got to see her precious Evie! It was so fun to watch
the two little cousins play together.  :)

V was helping decorate the reception tables.

Friday night at the rehearsal dinner-

Sara and the bride-to-be!

Auntie Sara and her precious H.

The bride and groom- the night before the wedding!!

Denise and her hubby Jeff (my cousin)
did an amazing job catering the rehearsal
dinner and the wedding cake the next day!

Beautiful centerpieces-
fresh picked flowers from Sara's garden
and Jen Scheidecker's garden also.

Jill's mom and her husband

Jill's grandma- Connie Thomsen

Precious V holding Jeff and Denise's
baby- Nicole.  :)

Saturday- the wedding day!

They were copying what I was doing when I wanted
them to sit together so I could take a picture.  :)
We got ready at mom and dad's before we went to the
church- what a fun time we had together!

Mom looking absolutely beautiful.

Sara was the hairdresser of the day!
She did 5 peoples hair that day for the wedding.
Great job sister Sara!  :)

Looking cute as usual.  :)

Aww- lookin good dad!  )

Chad had the job of signing our cards.  :)

My oh my- what a good looking couple!  :)

At the church for pictures and then the wedding-

There was a great playroom right next to the
sanctuary which was a blessing for the girls!

Darling Evie  :)

I am so happy for them!  :)

The 3 "sisters".  haha!!  :)

Monday- before we left for home.

Saturday (the day of the wedding) was
Joyce's birthday so we celebrated
a little later!

We met at the Albertville outlet mall
and enjoyed family, a little shopping
and a lot of sun!

The girls had so much fun together!!

What a fun trip it was, we made some great memories
and we're so thankful we were healthy enough to
go.  Love you Kyle and Jill and so happy for
you both as you start your new life together!!

Yummy coffee cake

I don't know about you but as far as breakfast goes, if it's not cereal we eat, then it's probably waffles or pancakes.  So, last saturday I decided we needed a much needed break from the usual and I pulled out a coffee cake recipe I got last summer from my friend Michelle. She made it for playgroup and it was so yummy that I had to have the recipe!
I wanted to share it with you- it's Aunt Clarabelle Canner's coffee cake recipe for those of you who know her or might already have it!

Clarabelle Canner's coffee cake
3/4 c. sugar
1 c. brown sugar
2 1/3 c. flour
1 t. salt
1 t. nutmeg
3/4 c. oil
Mix the above ingredients  and take out 1 c. mixture and set aside for topping.

Ok, I forgot to add the oil when I mixed them together
so this is what it looks like before the oil.

And this is what it looks like if you've done it correct.  :)

To the mixture (after you've taken out the cup) add:
1 egg
1 t. baking soda
3/4 c.- 1 c. buttermilk
1 t. baking powder
Mix that all together and put it in a 9X13 pan.
Put the cup mixture you set aside on top of the batter in the
pan and pat it lightly with a back of a spoon.
Now, bake it at 350 degrees for 30=40 minutes or until
toothpick comes out clean.

I added about 2 c. of mixed berries -
which is why it is such a "purpley" color!

It is soooo good though!!  :)

You can see H is enjoying it!!

Enjoy!
